Networking Lunch at Richardson Nature Center, Bloomington

Register NOW and mark your calendar! May 28, 2008, from 11:30am-1pm for this great lunch and networking event.

It’s the lovely month of May and what better time to take a lunch break at a Nature Center in Bloomington. The Hyland Lake Park Reserve is the home of Richardson Nature Center. Surrounded by prairie, woods, and ponds, it is the perfect setting for Women working in the environmental fields. What better place to become inspired and recommitted to your career and meet other women with similar goals and dreams. At our May networking event, you can absorb the energy of nature’s renewal in the spring bird song and budding trees and flowers, and make vital contacts with other working women. Just a few miles from I-494, this hidden treasure is where we will gather. You might want to take an extra hour of PTO to wander one of the Center’s trails before or after the meeting, and be reminded of why your choice of work in the environmental field is so important.

Jolie Ensign's day job is with the Department of Revenue, but recently she has becomea Green Coach with emagineGreen, a new business that introduces people to information about products they buy and better options. As a green Coach for emagineGreen, she wants to connect with eco-conscious women who would like to do more than they are doing today - who want to take that next step in 'greening' their lives. The workshops she has held have empowered women to take environmental action - in very simple ways. She lives in Ely. EmagineGreenTM has two missions: the first is to raise awareness and encourage action to make a positive impact on the environment. The business believes education leads to greater awareness and thereby, greater responsibility. The other part of the mission involves empowering and supporting people who have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be their own boss.

Since American women spend more than 1.7 trillion dollars per year on household products, we can support businesses with more sustainable practices and ecoFriendly products. EmagineGreen does research on thousands of ‘green' facts and finds practical solutions for the green consumer. The emagineGreen ecoScoreTM uses a 4-star rating system to rate products according to how ‘green' they are. Each star is associated with a stage in the product's life cycle. After meeting an emagineGreenTM coach or attending a workshop, few people walk away without feeling motivated to take action.
